The AFA is pleased to hear that after the devastating fire at Nannup Timber Processing just before Christmas, that the business hopes to restart drying kilns by the end of January.

This is good news for employees at the well-known iconic supplier plant. ‘…..most of the employees work in the green mill, says General Manager of NTP, Mr Vince Corlett. "I would expect (the fire) would have a minimal impact on employment on site. Seven to ten people will not have full employment for the immediate future till we can get the processing going again."

Despite this setback just before Christmas, the mood at Nannup is positive, Mr Corlett believes. "The industry has had some severe difficulties and it's been a difficult economic climate for most businesses.
