Education Minister Simon Birmingham will push for the federal government to fund vocational education, including TAFE, instead of the states. Mr Birmingham

Senator Birmingham says he wants parents and students to consider the option of a vocational pathway alongside a university education. Meantime, Senator
Birmingham says the government is not bound to university fee deregulation legislation and plans to negotiate the best way forward.
