The New South Wales Government is streamlining the state's technical and further education sector, with 10 TAFE institutes to be amalgamated. Training
Minister John Barilaro says bureaucratic excesses must be curtailed. He added that it is intolerable that between 40 per cent and 60 per cent of the
state's TAFE budget is spent on administration. The AFA hopes that this move will see more money come into supporting the Trades and Apprenticeship
training now instead.
