Together with a number of industry sponsors, including the Department of Local Government and Communities (WA), the Australian Furniture Association (AFA), Australian Apprentice and Traineeship Company, CMAWA, Proform Products, Workplace Services, Skill Hire, WTMS, Hafele and Toolmart, the FFTI Training Council has announced that the Perth Pallet Challenge is on again in 2015.
FFTITC are now accepting applications from Wood Trades Apprentices to compete with other apprentices for a share in $2,000 worth of cash and prizes. Apprentices will be asked to build an item of furniture from three wood pallets and display their creation on the Band Stage at Hillary’s Boat Harbour later this year.
Apprentices in Cabinet Making, Furniture Making, Upholstery, Furniture Finishing, Flooring Technology or Wood Machining are encouraged to enter with all nominees to receive a complimentary Student Membership of the AFA with the winner upgraded to a Silver AFA Membership.
