The late Frank Lo Presti
The Australian Furniture Association Board, Members and Staff convey their sincerest condolences to the family of Mr Frank Lo Presti who sadly passed away on 13th of September 2014.
Frank Lo Presti migrated from Ragusa in Sicily to Australia in 1952. On arrival seeking employment started working in the car industries and also Melbourne Board of works laying out sewerage lines for a short period of time until he saw an advertisement for Cabinet Maker from a company called Branch Flower Furniture and being a cabinet maker which was his passion applied for the job and was successful.
In gaining employment he obtained more local skills for a period of 9 years, before branching out to a company called Parade Furniture eventually becomingManaging Director and taking over the business which he later branched out & call it Frank Lo Presti & Sons which started 1974.
The back ground of the company was predominant commercial furniture into office fit outs, going from a skilled craftsman to achieving some of the most computerised modern equipment to compete in today’s market including making of timber floating flooring and also component parts for other members of the industries, eventually passing the business onto his sons, Joe, Matthew and Robert.
