The Australian Furniture Association (AFA) has been informed by its members and industry stakeholders is and very concerned about the unauthorised ‘promotion’ and ‘sale’ of exhibition space by reference to the Furnitex name. AFA is also concerned with claims that a show is endorsed by the national body, that is the AFA. 

The AFA is the owner of the Furnitex name and all its associated activities related to the Australian International Furniture and Design Fair. Since the termination of the licence to Informa, no other party has the right to use this brand or run a Furnitex show without AFA’s approval. Expertise Events are the ONLY approved management group for all AFA related activities. The Furnitex show will run in 2015 and be supported by AFA. A formal announcement on Furnitex reimagined and all other furniture related activities is due to be launched on 19 January 2015. The AFA encourages exhibitors to hold off on purchasing any exhibition space until AFA’s formal announcement.
