Energy Action Australia

CASE STUDY:

Digga is Australia’s leading machinery attachment manufacturer, offering over 80 different earth moving attachments across a boys’ own galaxy of augers, buckets, borers, excavators, trenchers and more.

Today, this multi-award-winning business has a workforce of over 300 people across three facilities, including a 12,500 sq./m state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Yatala, Queensland.

The problems they were facing included:

  • The advanced manufacturing facility was very power hungry
  • With so many sites, the company was struggling to monitor their spend and usage

So Digga enlisted the help of the Australian Furniture Association’s energy partner Energy Action

What did Energy Action do?

  • EA conducted a reverse energy auction* – and found a more competitive contract which meant Digga would save $65,000 across a 3 year contract
  • EA upgraded Digga to an online energy management portal so that they could keep track of their usage and spend. They can now also access their site reports, historical data, spend trends and NMI interval data (at any time!)

* What exactly is a reverse auction and how can Australian Furniture Association Members benefit?

Essentially, Energy Action will collect your data and create a profile so that energy retailers can see your usage. The profile will be provided to Australia’s leading energy retailers who will attend the auction and bid to win your contract – each bid pushes down the price you’ll pay for your energy.

It’s super simple and provides results in just 10 minutes!

With the cost of energy going up, don’t sit idly by – AFA Members are encouraged to ensure they’re on the best energy contract possible to save money now and down the track.
