And so another year has begun and the outlook is very positive for the furnishing industry.

In 2024 we hope to see a continued reduction in ‘poor quality’ furnishing product recalls and an increase in quality products that meet our very high Australian Standards.

Whilst the number of consumer complaints that are being referred to the Association by the ACCC for independent advice has caused us some concern over the Christmas period we are pleased to report that these are being resolved in a timely manner and to the satisfaction of all parties.

In 2024, the AFA will continue to work with national and international organisations to grow the Australian Furnishing Industry. Our advocacy role, contribution to legislative developments, training and assessment programs, sales and marketing programs, improving access to good design and compliance tools and preferred supplier services will also grow to ensure that our Members are well catered for by the Association.

So, for less than the cost of a cup of coffee per day, businesses can benefit from the valuable services the AFA provides. On the whole, we look forward to working closely with all Members to grow, promote and protect the industry, and to stay ahead of the game and remain relevant to this important design and manufacturing sector.
