Illegal Logging of Timber

On the 30th November 2014 the Australian Government introduced new regulations which require Australian timber importers to carry out due diligence on imported timber products.

The Illegal logging of timber is a significant trade issue, with the estimated global trade being as much as USD $100 Billion per annum.

The AFA commends the Australian Government’s commitment to combating the trade in illegally logged timber, a practice that undermines legitimate operators in Australia and overseas.
