The Australian Furniture Association (AFA) and Australian Furniture Industry Stewardship Council (AFISC) are grateful to industry partners who recently participated in discovery phase interviews for the AFA Furniture Passport project. Independently directed by the AFA and AFISC’s experienced technology partner, this collaborative input from industry leaders has provided valuable insights, helping to shape a digital product passport tailored to the furnishing industry sector’s needs for tracking sustainability, certification, and product lifecycle data.

Special thanks go to:

This project is a key initiative under the newly launched Australian Furniture Industry Stewardship Council (AFISC) which aims to support the sector’s move toward a circular economy. The Furniture Passport will not only streamline sustainability tracking and ESG reporting but will also align with a series of Australian government policies in this space, and the inclusion of ‘Furniture’ in forthcoming Environmentally Sustainable Procurement (ESP) policies set to take effect in July 2025.

As development continues, the AFA and AFISC will reach out to additional members and partners to ensure the Furniture Passport meets the full spectrum of the needs of this diverse industry. The ongoing collaboration is greatly appreciated as we build a more sustainable future for the Australian furniture sector.
