A recent study by Monash University is on point for Australian Furniture Association Members to consider. The Australian based survey aligns with a local economic backdrop – making it directly relevant to Australian businesses. The study found that 46% of shoppers think Sustainability is important in making a purchasing decision, that shoppers use product and packaging clues to make a decision, that choice difficulty increases if the number of alternatives and attributes increases, and the attributes are difficult to evaluate.
It’s clear that consumers are looking for clues on sustainable practices in product and packaging when making choices, with a growing proportion prepared to pay more for a higher degree of sustainability.
Is your business on board with the Sustainability movement? What is the business strategy? What actions are underway? Is your messaging to customers getting though?
The AFS encourage business leaders to check the survey results. The AFA are here to help connect the dots. Contact care@theafa.asn.au
